What Hugh's Patients Say
Barry had struggled for weeks and could only walk 5 metres before pain kicked in.
After 5 weeks of a holistic approach involving Osteopathy, acupuncture and 5 minutes a day of strength training, completed at home, Barry is pain free and walking for 40 mins.
Chronic lower back pain is multifaceted, affecting muscles, joints, brain, proprioception and more. Chronic pain can also leave a memory, therefore a key component is reprogramming the brain pathways to make sure they are not hypersensitive to pain. Make sure your treatment matches the nature of your pain.
'Hugh was recommended when I was suffering with a sore back and knee. So painful that I needed time off work because I couldn’t even get out of the car. I am now totally pain free and able to walk 26 mile walks. I feel the fittest I’ve ever been. Hugh is fun and approachable'.
Karen Platten

HUGH'S STORY
I graduated with Distinction from The University of St Mark and St John with a Masters in Osteopathic Medicine having previously worked as a Royal Marines Officer, Personal Trainer, and Nutritionist specialising in exercise therapy for lower back pain.
Since graduating I have also gained qualifications in medical acupuncture and dry needling for musculoskeletal treatment. I have a particular interest in removing chronic lower back pain and enabling patients to build sustainable habits that improve their health and longevity.
In my spare time enjoy rugby, rowing at sea, scuba diving, reading and skiing. I have been fortunate to have travelled to much of the world and my favourite trips include driving across America in a Mustang, and driving a Jeep Cherokee from the UK to Mongolia.
I also volunteers for Rock to Recovery (a mental health charity based in Exmouth), offering osteopathy to veterans, and blue light professionals, and their families.
I work in Newton Abbot, 1 minute from Penn Inn roundabout, and also at Coastal Chiropractic and Wellness Centre in Dawlish.
